Total Equivalent Warming Impact (TEWI) measures the total climate impact of a refrigeration system:
TEWI = Direct + Indirect
= (GWP × Leakage) + (GWP × EOL) + (Energy × EF × Life)
= (GWP × Leakage) + (GWP × EOL) + (Energy × EF × Life)
- • Direct: Refrigerant emissions from leaks and disposal
- • Indirect: CO₂ from electricity generation
